On a fittingly drizzly day for the final Cascadia clash between Sounders FC 2 and Timbers 2, S2 Head Coach Ezra Hendrickson and his club had one thing in mind...kick some serious butt. Two goals and one clean sheet later, the team can look back and say they did just that, and the fans can rest easy knowing that not only did the Rave Green get a home shutout over the visiting Timbers FC saplings, but the club can hang its hat on five wins against the regional rival across all competitions in 2015.
In case you missed it, it. was. SWEET.
The Canadian Giuliano Frano scored his second goal of the season, and his second against T2 (you do the math), then Oalex Anderson played a straight up amazing game, showing the USL, his home country St. Vincent and everybody at Starfire that there is a new force to be reckoned with in Seattle, and you can call him Bounty.
In case you missed anything at all (and there was so much), I'm here to feed you your weekly dose of S2 Social Timeline, so button up your flannel, because we have some logging to do.
"It's a nice day for a White Matchday," - Billy Idol
Well, when you know, you know.
Hehehehe...
Ashani get's his first start for the Rave Green, so naturally he gets the cover spot.
"We are Portland's reckoning," - S2.
Let's get it boys!
Sup, Thomás? I miss you, Darwin.
Seriously, it looks so stinking sharp.
Amadou might be one of the nicest people on the planet, but he sure doesn't like the opposition to hold the ball very long.
"He's big! He's Tall! He...is Saif Kerawala!"
We knew we gave those out for a good reason.
Shoutout to my hometown, but seriously, we are gonna need that back.
"Scoring against Portland makes me really happy," - A legitimate quote from Giuliano. He will fit in here, don't ya think?
A little something like
WE BARELY CAUGHT OUR BREATH FROM THE LAST ONE! MAKE IT TWO!
What else are you gonna do when Oalex runs right at you?
So. Good.
If you don't watch anything else today, at least watch this.
The once-Timber knows better now, and stepped up big time in this one.
5-0-0 in 2015. It doesn't get much better than that.
Facts: Oalex is good at soccer, and he also isn't pickin' up ANYTHING you're puttin down.
Well folks, five straight against T2 plus four home shutouts in a row has me feeling mighty fine. One more week of training before S2 takes the field in Sacramento to face off against the defending USL champ. Tune in this Saturday on SoundersFC.com to watch the clash, and until next time, keep on keepin' on.
