Well Thursday night was something special. Something very special indeed.
The Sounders FC not only unveiled new primary and secondary kits but held the debut in the club's new event space, The NINETY. Wowzers.
Newsflash: both are gorgeous. The Sounders jerseys, both the traditional Rave Green home strip and the fancy new Olympic White (so fresh, so clean) secondary get up are just really classy and neat. No silly frills or weird designs. Just a pair of good-looking soccer jerseys through and through.
And The NINETY. My goodness, The NINETY. This is, as owner Adrian Hanauer put it, "the exclamation point" on the separation of business operations from the Seahawks last year. A fantastic space below the Sounders FC offices in Pioneer Square, The NINETY will be a place for soccer fans city-wide to stop in, enjoy the beautiful game and take their fandom of the Sounders to the next level.
Needless to say, the Sounders social media folks, headed up by yours truly, were all over the evening's activities like Chad Marshall on any ball in the air (which is to say COMPLETE DOMINATION thereof) and as such, have a full Social Timeline for your viewing pleasure.
This started the day. The first poster in the Posters by the People campaign. Very nice work there.
Welcome, welcome! This place is going to be off the wall.
Very nice set of trophies we’ve got downstairs. Very, very nice.
Some pretty glass, too, compliments of Chihuly.
And there they are! Just lovely stuff right here.
Ozzie you beautiful man, you.
Olympic White. Get used to it, world.
So lovely!
Tyrone certainly approves of the new look!
Be there or be square, y’all.
Here’s the guys rocking the new kits before they made their way downstairs.
Lamar waxing about his new uniform.
Oh my oh my…is it warm in here? Oh boy.
Clint for President.
One last look at The NINETY and a handful of trophies. Lovely stuff, lovely night.
