After a long, grueling road trip that took the Sounders across the country and back over a 12-day span, the club returned to CenturyLink Field on Saturday to much fanfare...and fireworks.
Yes, the matches against Dallas and New York didn't go as planned, and neither did Saturday's match with Chivas USA in the beginning...but it certainly ended the way we hoped.
The man largely responsible for Seattle's 4-2 victory over Chivas was none other than Obafemi Martins. The MLS MVP candidate was all over the pitch giving the Goats headaches every time he touched the ball. Two goals and wonderful assist on Clint Dempsey's game-winner were the prizes of the day and Martins just continued to push his name up the list of top players in Major League Soccer.
I'm in the mood to read some fun tweets and see some fun photos of what was truly a lovely day in Seattle. We missed you guys.
We so were. SO BACK.
This was fun, too. Pretty special.
Nothing better.
Happy birthday to Ozzie’s wife! Yayyyy!
Look at those lovely babies. All lined up.
And a better shot of our silver friends. So much swoon.
Oh look! They’re moving!
And we had a starting lineup. Not too shabby.
Funky fresh Instagram form.
Marcus was glad to be home.
How lovely. So, so lovely!
After 12 days away, it was great to hear that once again.
HEY LOOK THE MATCH STARTED!
Chivas got a scrappy early goal…but then Oba wanted the goalz.
Chivas got another (wut?) but then Lamar tied it up with a cheeky little interception.

Then it was halftime. My #analysis on the first 45 seen here.
Yep. Oba up to his old tricks again.
And with that…
By the way, ZACH SCOTT.
We did it! We did it! Four MASSIVE matches coming up.
Ross’ thoughts on the victory.
Yep, we sure do…and it shows.
OBA OBA OBA OBA OBA OBA OBA OBA
