As long as it took to get here, the Sounders opening match of the 2014 MLS regular season has gone...and boy was it something to behold.
Playing in a rain-soaked CenturyLink Field against defending MLS Cup champion Sporting Kansas City, the Sounders battled for 90+ minutes before second-half substitute Chad Barrett was able to poke home a loose ball in the box to give the home side the 1-0 victory.
It was the club's fifth victory over Kansas City in stoppage time in league play. Wow.
So let's go back and take a look at how the day unfolded on social media.
Let's start things off the day before to get you excited. And Brad looks great so it's fine.
...and then it was Matchday!
As were our players. Hi Lamar!
What a beautiful place to call home.

If this didn't get you ready for the start of the season, I'm not sure what will.
As you can see, I was pretty excited on Twitter.
The Seahawks sent some love our way.
As did the Mariners.
And our good friend, Fredy!
Oba getting himself ready.
Finally! It was kickoff and the 2014 MLS season began!
The crowd was fantastic. As always. 39,240...a new season opening record for the club.

The first half would end scoreless though as both teams failed to get much going.
Here we have the video of the epic ECS tifo.
THEN THIS! What an end to the match as the Sounders took three points thanks to this last-gasp strike.
Seconds later...the final whistle!
Epic stuff from the Sounders late on.
But an even more epic performance by our supporters.
Chad was pleased. See you next Saturday.
