In April, we celebrated Earth Month and our continued commitment to Protect our Planet! We are proud to be the first carbon neutral professional soccer team in North America and the first carbon neutral pro sports team in the United States. We commit to measuring, offsetting, and work towards reducing our footprint every year. We collaborate with partners to educate youth most affected by environmental injustice and empower them to improve community health outcomes.
Earth Day Celebration at Hilltop Elementary School
To celebrate Earth Day, we continued our work with our partners at EarthGen! We revisited a 2021 sustainability project site, Hilltop Elementary, to work alongside students to provide necessary upkeep of last year’s community informed garden and playscape project. Students and volunteers weeded, mulched and planted new seedlings in the rain garden, taking turns planting over 500 seed bombs for the entire school to enjoy.
Following the workday, we joined students for an Earth Day celebration! Along with the unveiling of future plans for the school garden, students received soccer balls, courtesy of RAVE Foundation, and joined Brad Evans for a kickaround!
RAVE Foundation Kicks Off Free Clinics
This month, RAVE Foundation kicked off a season of clinics, presented by WaFd Bank, serving youth in RAVE communities across the Seattle area!
With the support and partnership of Cultures United, the first two clinics of the year were a huge success! Over 50 youth, ages 6-14, enjoyed clinics in High Point and Des Moines.
