PREVIOUS MEETING: The Whitecaps and Sounders are playing at Lumen Field for the second time in a month. Vancouver defeated nine-man Seattle 2-0 on April 20 behind second-half goals from Ryan Gauld and Brian White.

MAY(HEM): The Sounders are in the middle of one of their busiest months in recent memory. Seattle’s match against Vancouver will be its fifth of eight in the month of May, and fifth in 14 days.
DE LA VEGA EXPECTED TO RETURN: Head Coach Brian Schmetzer said this week that Young Designated Player Pedro de la Vega should expect to feature on Saturday. The 23-year-old Argentine winger has been sidelined since March 2 with a hamstring injury.
CASCADIA CLASH: Vancouver leads the early Cascadia Cup standings, having defeated both Portland and Seattle in two matches this season. The Sounders are in second with three points, while the Timbers are pointless.
DEFENSIVELY SOUND: Despite allowing four goals over its last two matches, Vancouver remains statistically one of the better defenses in the league. The ‘Caps have conceded just 14 times in 12 matches, good for fourth in the Western Conference and seventh overall in MLS.
TRENDING DOWN: After a torrid start to open the 2024 season, the Whitecaps have come down to earth over the past month. Vancouver has won just once in its last six MLS matches (1-3-2).
