-  The Rave Green are coming off a 2-2 draw with Chicago Fire FC on August 29. Newly-acquired striker Dejan Joveljić scored both goals for Seattle.
- Joveljić joined Fredy Montero as the only two Seattle players to score a brace in their debut, with Joveljić's second goal coming in the 48th minute, making it the fastest debut brace in club history.
- Saturday will be the 16th meeting between the two sides, with Seattle leading the regular season series 7-5-3, including a 6-1-1 record at Lumen Field.
- Sounders FC currently sits in 12th place in the Western Conference with 26 points (7-9-5). RBNY is in eighth in the East with 26 points (7-10-5).
- The Rave Green defeated Red Bull New York in its first ever match in MLS, a 3-0 win on March 19, 2009 at Lumen Field.
