FORM GUIDE (all competitions, most recent first): Seattle: WDWLL, Colorado: WLLDW
PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders and Rapids played to a 1-1 draw at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo., on April 26 in their first meeting of the year. Djordje Mihailovic’s 54th-minute goal canceled our Danny Musovski’s opener just before halftime.
90S NIGHT: As part of the Sounders’ first-ever Throwback Week, Wednesday is 90s Night at Lumen Field. The celebration features the highly anticipated launch of “The Archive Collection,” a special-edition third kit that pays homage to the club’s rich past and iconic style.
MORRIS BACK IN BUSINESS: Getting his first start since a March 11 Concacaf Champions Cup match against Cruz Azul after battling injuries, Sounders forward Jordan Morris made an instant impact in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City. The Sounders’ all-time leading goalscorer tallied his fourth goal of the season in the 15th minute and became just the third player in franchise history to record 100 regular-season goal contributions.
JESÚS HEATING UP: Since the Sounders’ return to MLS play following the FIFA Club World Cup, attacker Jesús Ferreira has looked more like the creative playmaker and finisher that he was so renowned for in Dallas. The United States international has two goals and an assist in his last three contests.

Pickleball Night (vs. Vancouver Whitecaps)
Whether you’re on the pitch or the court, show off your love for the game with a $33 ticket and a Sounders-branded pickleball paddle—a must-have for both soccer and pickleball enthusiasts!
Kickoff at 7:30 p.m. PT on September 27.
ATENCIO RETURNS: Seattle Homegrown and Bellevue, Wash., native Josh Atencio will return to Lumen Field for the first time since the Rapids spent up $1.6M in General Allocation Money for his services this past offseason. Atencio, 23, made 91 appearances for the Sounders in five seasons with the First Team. He’s become a locked-in starter for Head Coach Chris Armas, racking up 1,553 minutes across 22 matches this season.
RIDING A mi-HAI-lovic: Rapids playmaker Mihailovic is coming off an MLS Team of the Matchday performance for his three assists in a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend. Colorado’s No. 10 is up to eight goals and six assists on the season and is third in the league in Key Passes with 65.
LEAVING GOALS ON THE FIELD: The Rapids have generated the fourth-most Expected Goals in the league this season with 39.22 but have scored just 27. Their underperformance of more than 12 goals is the second-worst in MLS behind only Austin FC.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Cole Bassett, M
The Rapids have missed the consistent play of Bassett, who has battled injuries this season but returned to the starting lineup for their last two matches. When healthy, the 23-year-old is one of the league’s best domestic midfielders and has the ability to be a match-winner for Colorado.
