UPCOMING INTERNATIONAL BREAK: Sunday’s match will be the Sounders’ last until June 14 as the league pauses for an international break. Albert Rusnák has been called into Slovakia, and Cristian Roldan and Jordan Morris will join the United States.
RETURNEES: Sounders fullback Alex Roldan will be available for selection on Sunday after serving a one-match suspension at Colorado last weekend for a red card. Captain Nicolás Lodeiro will likely also be available after missing last weekend because of the birth of his daughter.
CHARLOTTE’S SHORT REST: Charlotte will have to travel cross-country for this weekend’s match following Wednesday's 3-1 loss in the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup away at the New York Red Bulls.
ROAD WOES: Charlotte is one of only seven teams in MLS that is winless on the road so far this season. The club has taken just one total point from 18 on offer (0-5-1).
LOCAL CONNECTION: Charlotte features former Sounders Academy product Chris Hegardt, who Charlotte selected in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. Charlotte sent $50,000 in General Allocation Money for the rights to the 20-year-old former Georgetown Hoya and Tacoma Defiance midfielder.
