Seattle Sounders FC prevailed over Minnesota in Monday’s Western Conference Championship, winning in a dramatic 3-2 comeback to earn a berth in the 2020 MLS Cup Final. The Rave Green now travel to Columbus where they will face Crew SC in a battle for Major League Soccer’s crown.
The championship match is being played this Saturday, December 12, in a 5:30 p.m. PT kickoff (FOX, UniMás, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM), with Sounders FC vying to bring home the club’s third Philip F. Anschutz Trophy.

GOVERNMENT ACTIVATIONS
- The City of Seattle will fly its Sounders FC flag at City Hall on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- The King County Administration Building is raising its Sounders FC flag on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- Earlier today, the City of Tukwila presented Sounders FC with a proclamation from Mayor Allan Ekberg declaring December 12, 2020 as “Seattle Sounders FC Spirit Day” in the city. Tukwila’s Starfire Sports has served as the club’s official training grounds since its beginning in MLS and even through part of its USL history.
COMMUNITY ACTIVATIONS
- All Washington State Ferries sailing into and out of Colman Dock on Bainbridge and Bremerton routes are flying Sounders FC flags on matchday.
- Starbucks will fly a specially crafted giant Sounders FC flag from the top of its corporate headquarters in SoDo on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- At Pike Place Market, the famous Pike Place Fish Market fishmongers are supporting their local club by donning Sounders FC gear and decorating their Market stall, while Rachel the Piggy Bank will don her Sounders FC Scarf.
LIGHTING ACTIVATIONS
- The Space Needle adds special Sounders spirit to the city’s iconic skyline on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 as it lights up Rave Green.
- The Hyatt Regency Seattle displays a towering “GO SFC” message in window lighting along its 45-story façade all week through Saturday, December 12.
In addition, the exterior of the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington is shining green for the club on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, as well.
- T-Mobile is going green for Sounders FC on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12. Known for its distinctive magenta lighting that illuminates the company headquarters in Factoria, T-Mobile shows its support for the Sounders by trading magenta for Rave Green.
- The Amazon Spheres in South Lake Union along Seventh Avenue glow Rave Green for Sounders FC on match night, Saturday, December 12.
- The top of the Russell Investments Center will add more to the skyline glow on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- The Westin Seattle lights its distinctive towers Rave Green starting tonight, Thursday, December 10 and running through Sunday, December 13.
- The Washington State Convention Center provides a Rave Green glow downtown on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- MOHAI – Seattle’s Museum of History & Industry – is scheduled to light up South Lake Union’s waterfront on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 as the institution’s building-front glows Rave Green in support of its hometown soccer team.
- The Seattle Mariners continue to support their neighbors by changing T-Mobile Park’s magenta lighting to Rave Green on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
In addition, the statue of Mariners legend and recent addition to the Sounders FC Ownership Group Ken Griffey Jr., located on the corner of First Avenue and Edgar Martinez Drive, will be dressed in a Sounders FC jersey. - The Allen Institute, founded by late Sounders FC Owner and Seattle visionary Paul Allen, lights green on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.
- CHI Franciscan will light its St. Joseph’s Medical Center Rave Green from Friday, December 11 through Sunday, December 13.
- The 520 Bridge is lighting its sentinels green for the club on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12.

Having claimed victories over LAFC, FC Dallas and Minnesota United FC on its postseason path to winning the Western Conference, Sounders FC now faces the champions of the Eastern Conference, Columbus Crew SC, in a battle for the 2020 MLS Cup title. This marks the fourth time in five years that Seattle has played in the league’s ultimate match, and Brian Schmetzer’s club has a chance to bring home its third championship.
