Ahead of Earth Day and MLS WORKS' third annual Greener Goals Week of Service from April 16-20, the Seattle Sounders have teamed up with adidas to support Parley for the Oceans.
During Week 8 matches, MLS players will wear special adidas kits built of technical yarns made using Parley Ocean Plastic - upcycled marine plastic that has been reworked into fibers that are repurposed for apparel. The 2018 edition comes in two colors, carbon and non-dye, which will differentiate the squads on the field. See below for the Sounders kit:
Last season, the Sounders were one of four MLS teams to wear Parley jerseys, but the initiative has extended to all clubs for 2018. It's one facet of the third annual Greener Goals Week of Service, in which league-wide efforts will be conducted on and off the field to highlight the league's commitment to environmental sustainability.
