The latest Power Rankings are out and, no surprise, the Seattle Sounders remain No.1 on MLSsoccer.com. One of two unbeaten clubs alongside 2-0-5 Nashville SC, the Rave Green are now 5-0-3 following Sunday's scoreless draw to expansion side Austin FC. Seattle ranks first in points (18), fewest goals allowed (3) and goal differential 11).
Despite retaining the top position, MLSsoccer.com poses the question if the back-to-back home draws is a cause for concern for Seattle:
Probably nothing to worry too much about yet and they did take a point from both, but it’s not exactly the way you want to be trending. Is there a chance, a chance, Seattle came out throwing punches in a way no one expected, caught everyone off guard and now everyone is adjusting?
Still probably no. Maybe something to keep an eye on though.
In other lists, ESPN put the Sounders at No. 2 behind the New England Revolution, while Bleacher Report kept Seattle at No. 1.
After the upcoming hiatus, Brian Schmetzer's side returns to MLS action on Wednesday, June 19 at Dignity Health Sports Park (6 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM)
