Three months after their run to the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, Seattle Sounders midfielder Gustav Svensson and Sweden returned to Russia for an UEFA Nations League match on Wednesday in Kaliningrad.
Svensson started and went all 90 minutes for the BlĂĄgult, earning their first point in Group 2 of League B. Russia sits atop the three-team group with four points from two matches, while Turkey is in second with three points.
Sweden returns home for a friendly against Slovakia on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Friends Arena in Solna. The Swedes will visit Turkey in their next Nations League match on Nov. 17.
