Seattle Sounders Jordan Morris and Osvaldo Alonso have been nominated for Major League Soccer’s 2016 AT&T Goal of the Year.
Morris beautifully took down a through ball against Toronto FC on July 2, deftly turned inside and fired a shot into the side netting at the far post. He also scored a late game-winner against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sept. 17 on a diving header.
Alonso closed the door on the LA Galaxy at StubHub Center on Sept. 25 when he rocketed home a right-footed blast from 25 yards out.
Voting opened on Tuesday featuring 64 of the best league goals this season as voted on by the MLSSoccer.com editorial and video staff. The Sounders won Goal of the Year in 2012 and ’14 on golazos by Patrick Ianni and Obafemi Martins.
ENTER TO WIN: In addition to voting for your favorite goal of the campaign, United States residents will also be able to enter to win a trip to MLS Cup 2016, which will include tickets, airfare, two nights' hotel stay and pre-match field access for two.
