Following Seattle’s 1-0 win over FC Dallas on Tuesday in the Western Conference Semifinals at Lumen Field, the Sounders will host Minnesota United in the Western Conference Final on Monday night (6:30 p.m. PT; FS1, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
No. 4 seed Minnesota knocked off No. 1 Sporting Kansas City 3-0 at Children’s Mercy Park on Thursday.
Monday will mark the first Audi MLS Cup Playoffs match between the Sounders and Loons, who entered MLS in 2017 and made their first postseason appearance last season.
Seattle last hosted a Western Conference Final in 2017 in the second leg of a home-and-home with the Houston Dynamo. The Sounders won 3-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate.
Due to COVID-19, Seattle and Minnesota did not meet during the 2020 regular season. The Sounders, who are 5-0-1 all time against Minnesota, last met the Loons on Decision Day last year, with Seattle earning a 1-0 victory.
