Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz started and played 69 minutes on Tuesday in Peru’s 3-2 friendly loss with Costa Rica in Arequipa, Peru.
Edison Flores opened the scoring for Peru in the 20th minute before Jonathan McDonald equalized four minutes from halftime. Allan Cruz gave Los Ticos the lead in the 54th minute before Jefferson Farfán, who entered as a substitute for Ruidíaz, leveled the match in the 73rd minute. A Joel Campbell penalty kick four minutes later gave Costa Rica the 3-2 win.
Ruidíaz earned his 36th cap and started each of La Blanquirroja‘s two friendlies during this FIFA international break. He went 45 minutes in Peru’s 2-0 loss to Ecuador last Thursday.
