Defender Nouhou Tolo, who signed with the First Team last month, has been called in to represent Cameroon at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations. The tournament takes place from February 26 – March 12 in Zambia, with the top four teams automatically qualifying for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea this May.
Tolo, 19, signed with Sounders FC in January after starring for S2, the club’s USL affiliate, last season. The Douala, Cameroon native signed with S2 in April 2016 before leading the team in minutes with 2,061 minutes in 24 appearances at left back. Previously, Tolo played for Cameroonian side Rainbow FC.
The gifted 5-10 speedster is set to rejoin the First Team in Seattle following the tournament, which is held every two years. Cameroon is one of eight countries competing in this year’s edition.
