TUKWILA, Wash. – Midfielder Mark O’Ojong has been selected to the USL 20 Under 20, the league announced on Thursday. In collaboration with TopDrawerSoccer.com, the USL launched the 20 Under 20 to identify the top 20 young talents in the United States under the age of 20.
The selections were made from a pool of over 140 players eligible according to the FIFA U20 World Cup age cutoff of January 1, 1996, and voted upon by coaches across the USL with insight from TopDrawerSoccer.com.
O’Ojong was selected at number 12 for his performance for Seattle Sounders FC 2 so far this season. Signed in March 2016, O’Ojong has become a mainstay for S2 this season logging 1219 minutes and recording two goals including a game winner against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday. The Cameroonian has also been capped twice by his country and played in the African Cup of Nations.
