The Seattle Sounders are not only climbing the Western Conference table, but they continue to rise in the latest editions of media outlets’ MLS Power Rankings.
The Sounders are ranked No. 5 on MLSSoccer.com (No. 9 last week), No. 6 on SI.com (No. 7) and No. 6 on ESPNFC.com (No. 7).
Seattle is currently on a four-game winning streak, including two in Week 30 over the Chicago Fire at home and the Vancouver Whitecaps away. The Sounders’ excellent run of form has catapulted them from the Western Conference basement to a 97 percent chance of making the postseason.
The Sounders have a bye weekend this week due to the international break, but they return to MLS play on Wednesday Oct. 12 at home against the Houston Dynamo (7:30 p.m. PT; JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97. FM, El Rey 1360AM).
