Seattle Sounders center back Román Torres started and captained Panama on Tuesday in a 2-0 friendly loss to Venezuela at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama. He went all 90 minutes in Panama’s only match during this FIFA international break.
Venezuela’s Salomón Rondón recorded a brace, striking first in the 67th minute before icing the match in the third minute of stoppage time.
Torres returns to Seattle ahead of the Sounders’ massive Cascadia clash against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at BC Place (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
