Heading into MLS Decision Day, the Seattle Sounders have already secured a top three spot in the Western Conference and a guaranteed home match at Lumen Field. Where the Sounders finish in the top three with Sporting Kansas City and the Colorado Rapids will be determined on Sunday. Here are each of the three matches and what needs to happen to determine where the Sounders can end the regular season.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Seattle Sounders
Sporting Kansas City vs. Real Salt Lake
Colorado Rapids vs. LAFC
The Seattle Sounders will finish FIRST in the West IF:
• The Sounders defeat the Whitecaps
OR
• The Sounders draw the Whitecaps AND
• Sporting KC does not win vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids do not win vs. LAFC
OR
• The Sounders lose to the Whitecaps AND
• Sporting KC loses vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids do not win vs. LAFC
OR
• The Sounders lose to the Whitecaps by one goal AND
• Sporting KC ties RSL AND
• The Rapids do not win vs. LAFC AND
• The Sounders finish with more Goals For on the season than SKC
The Sounders will finish SECOND in the West IF:
• The Sounders draw vs. the Whitecaps AND
• One of Sporting KC and the Rapids win and the other does not win
OR
• The Sounders lose vs. the Whitecaps AND
• Sporting KC loses vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids win vs. LAFC
OR
• The Sounders lose vs. the Whitecaps by one goal AND
• Sporting KC ties vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids win vs. LAFC AND
• The Sounders finish with more Goals For on the season than SKC
The Sounders will finish THIRD in the West IF:
• The Sounders do not win vs. Vancouver AND
• Both Sporting KC and the Rapids win
OR
• The Sounders lose to the Whitecaps by one goal AND
• Sporting KC ties or wins vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids win vs. LAFC AND
• Sporting KC finishes with more Goals For on the season than the Sounders
OR
• The Sounders lose to the Whitecaps by at least two goals AND
• Sporting KC ties or wins vs. RSL AND
• The Rapids win vs. LAFC
