The Seattle Sounders fell 1-0 at FC Dallas in Frisco, Texas, on Wednesday night behind a second-half goal from Kaick.
Dejan Joveljić had the first good look of the match in the 13th minute when he was played in over the top and tried to chip a ball over FC Dallas goalkeeper Daniel, but the Brazilian got big to deny the effort.
Jackson Ragen was inches away from giving Seattle the lead in the 19th minute when Albert Rusnák whipped in a beautiful free kick bending into the six-yard box that Ragen got a piece of but not enough to get it past Daniel.
Paul Arriola dinked a ball into Joveljić in the 25th minute, and the Serbian international looked to have found the bottom corner, but his attempt skipped just outside the near post.
Three minutes later, Joveljić started a great buildup outside the box before Kalani Kossa-Rienzi played it back to Joveljić in the center of the box, but Daniel was there to deny him yet again.
FC Dallas’ best chance of the first half came in the 45th minute when Petar Musa pulled out a scissor kick in the center of the box that just barely missed wide of the near post past a diving Andrew Thomas.
Dallas nearly took the lead within a minute after halftime when Kaick tried to sneak the ball into the lower corner from a tight angle, but Thomas did a wonderful job to read it and get low to parry it away.
Dallas found its go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute when Osaze Urhoghide headed a corner kick to the top of the box for Kaick, and the Brazilian fired home a volley into the top left corner.
Jordan Morris had an opportunity in the 69th minute when Rusnák played a lovely through ball into Morris’ path, but his shot sailed wide right.
Daniel came to the rescue again in the 75th minute when Snyder Brunell ripped a left-footed shot from just outside the box that Daniel did just enough to keep out.
The Sounders end the match seventh in the Western Conference table with 41 points from 29 games (11-10-8).
