The Seattle Sounders drew Minnesota United 1-1 on Sunday afternoon at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minn. Sounders defender Yeimar opened the scoring in the first half before his own goal in the second half split the points.

The Sounders took the lead in the 17th minute when Nicolás Lodeiro’s beautiful cross from the left side picked out Yeimar in the middle of the box, and the big Colombian center back headed home his second goal of the season.

Minnesota’s best chance of the opening half came in the 37th minute when Michael Boxall put his header from close range over the crossbar.

The Loons equalized in the 56th minute when Yeimar rose for an attempted clearance off an Emanuel Reynoso free kick, but Yeimar accidentally headed it backward and past Stefan Frei.

Alex Roldan had a great strike in the 63rd minute when he cut inside from the right side of the box, and his left-footed effort was parried away by Dayne St. Clair.

Frei matched St. Clair at the other end just five minutes later when he got down to his left to deny a close chance from Hassani Dotson.

Nouhou picked out Jordan Morris in the 75th minute with a great cross to the far post, but the Mercer Island native couldn’t redirect it on frame.

Frei made another key save in the 86th minute when he got down to his right and pushed a laser of a left-footed shot from distance by Ismael Tajouri-Shradi out for a corner.
