The Seattle Sounders picked up a point on the road on Saturday night following a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas, with right back Alex Roldan scoring the lone goal for the Rave Green.
It was a relatively even first half between the two teams. The Sounders and Dallas shared 50 percent of possession while Dallas totaled six shots in the first 45 versus four attempts for the Sounders.
But it was the home team who took advantage of one of their chances, with Jáder Obrain establishing the lead for his team in the 15th minute after collecting a through ball in front of goal and finishing off the opportunity.
The second half switched to a more dominant performance for the Sounders. From the get-go, the Seattle squad was looking to equalize the score.
The team’s efforts following the halftime break were rewarded in the 57th minute. Reed Baker-Whiting won a 1-v-1 battle down the left flank and crossed the ball to the far post for Alex Roldan to rocket one-time into the back of the net, pulling Seattle level.
Another legitimate chance came for the Sounders in the 79th minute when Cristian Roldan nearly scored a similar goal to his brother, but it went just wide of the post.
The Sounders were inches away from closing out the match with a 2-1 victory in the last moments of the game when Josh Atencio had a breakaway down the right flank and played the ball to Jordan Morris who looked to lay it off to Nouhou for a first-time finish. The Seattle left back was denied a potential game-winner by a 70-yard recovery run from a Dallas defender who broke up the play.
The Rave Green return to action on Wednesday with a road trip to the Colorado Rapids (6:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey1360AM) at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
