Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz started and played 85 minutes in Peru’s 2-1 friendly loss to Germany at Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, Germany, on Sunday.
Peru’s Luis Advíncula opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Germany’s Julian Brandt equalized three minutes later. Die Mannschaft found the winner in the 85th minute when Nico Schulz scored in his international debut.
Ruidíaz did not play in Peru’s friendly against the Netherlands on Sept. 6. He returns to Seattle looking to help extend the Sounders’ MLS-record winning streak to nine matches when they visit the rival Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday (7 p.m. PT; JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
