SOUNDERS FC 2022 MLS ALL-STAR SELECTIONS
FORWARD RAÚL RUIDIAZ
Currently tied with Morris with five goals this season, Ruidíaz earns his second consecutive All-Star nod in 2022. Signed by Seattle as a Designated Player in the 2018 summer transfer window, Ruidíaz has been one of the league’s most prolific goal-scorer in his four-and-a-half seasons in MLS. The Peruvian has scored 64 MLS goals (including postseason) since making his debut in July of 2018, in addition to ranking second in club history in goals across all competitions (69) behind Fredy Montero. His nine postseason goals rank first in club history, helping lead the club to two MLS Cup Final appearances and the 2019 title.
FORWARD JORDAN MORRIS
After missing almost the entire 2021 season due to an ACL tear suffered while on loan with Swansea City, Morris has had a bounce back year in 2022, recording five goals this season, tied with Ruidíaz for most on the team. He also has three assists on the year, tied for third for the Rave Green. His 50 goals across all competitions rank fifth all-time in club history. Morris also has extensive international experience, appearing for the U.S. Men’s National Team 48 times, most recently scoring a goal in two appearances in Concacaf Nations League play last month. He also was on the USMNT squad that qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, making six appearances during the team’s qualifying campaign.
