Following the club's 5-0 win over CF Montréal on Saturday night, Seattle Sounders forward Raúl Ruidíaz and defender Alex Roldan have been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday for Matchday 8, while Albert Rusnák earned a spot on the bench.
Ruidíaz kickstarted the Sounders' strong performance, scoring the first two goals of the night in the 20th and 27th minutes of the first half. He also earned an assist after he slipped in Rusnák, who crossed the ball to the back post for Roldan to finish one-time in the 81st minute.
Rusnák, who was making just his second start since returning from an ankle injury, set up two goals on the night after drawing a PK in the first half and playing an easy ball in the box in the second half for Roldan to tally the team's fourth goal.
Roldan's 81st minute finish into the back of the net and strong defensive performance helped the team to its second shutout at home this season and ultimately earned him a spot on Team of the Matchday..
The Sounders return to action on April 13 as they travel to Texas to take on FC Dallas (5:30 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) at Toyota Stadium.
