The Seattle Sounders closed out its second preseason match with a victory over Danish side Aalborg BK on Friday afternoon at the Marbella Football Center.
The Sounders won by a score of 5-3, with goals from Pedro de la Vega, Albert Rusnák, Snyder Brunell, Jesús Ferreria and Obed Vargas!

GAME SUMMARY
1’ – We are underway from the Marbella Football Center for our friendly against Aalborg BK! Today’s match will consist of three 45-minute periods with two different lineups.
6’ – The first five minutes have been mostly played in Aalborg’s half, with Paul Arriola making some good runs up the left side into the box and Jordan almost himself with a breakaway chance early.
17’ – CHANCE! Pedro serves a great ball into the area that gets deflected right to the feet of Albert, who takes a shot on frame that the Aalborg keeper parries away.
22’ – The match has evened out in the last 10 minutes, with Aalborg getting the occasional run into our area.
25’ – Jordan continues to make good runs in behind, trying to find that final pass.
26’ – CHANCE! Jordan takes the ball into the area with numbers on our side and finds Albert, who can’t quite get the final touch to get the shot off.
29’ – ANOTHER CHANCE! Jordan finds himself 1v1 with the keeper on the left side of the goal, but an Aalborg defender slides in at the last minute to block the shot and keep this one scoreless.
30’ – Goal for Aalborg. Commotion in the box leads to an Aalborg shot that slides past Frei to the far post.
35’ – OFF THE POST! Paul Arriola takes a crack from outside the area that beats the keeper but hits off the left post and stays out.
42’ – GOALLLLLL! Jordan finally gets in behind with the ball and lays it off to a streaking Pedro, who slots it easily into the back of the net.
45’ – And that’s the end of the first of our three 45-minute periods, with the score 1-1!
46’ – The second period of play is underway! The only change is Andrew Thomas coming in for Stefan Frei.
54’ – GOALLLLL! João Paulo lays off a peach of a ball for Albert, who takes a touch to his right and slots it across the face of goal to the far post.
56’ – CHANCE! Jordan once again is able to get in behind Aalborg’s defense, this time laying it off for Paul Arriola, who shoots it to the near post, but Aalborg’s goalkeeper makes a spectacular save to keep the ball out of the net.
65’ – About 20 minutes into the second period and we do a complete lineup swap and send in 10 new field players, including Jesús Ferreira making his (preseason) debut for the club!
77’ – GOALLLLLL! We create a turnover right at the top of the box, lays it off to Jesús, who finds a wide-open Snyder for the easy finish!
83’ – CHANCE! Jesús gets a good look at goal but sends it into the side netting.
90’ – That’s the end of the second 45-minute period! We take a 3-1 lead into the last 45.
91’ – And we are underway! Jacob Castro comes in for Andrew Thomas in goal.
93’ – Cody Baker replaces Reed Baker-Whiting.
103’ – GOALLLL! Jesús opens his (preseason) tally for the Rave Green as he calmly slots the ball into the back of the net off a nice feed from Cristian! The striker then comes off as Osaze De Rosario takes his place.
122’ – Aalborg BK gets its second, scored by Jubril Adedji off a rebound by a great initial save from Jacob.
131’ – Aalborg BK gets their third goal of the match, scored by Nicklas Helenius.
134’ – GOALLLL!!! Obed Vargas adds to our tally at the tail end of this one!
135’ – And that’s the end of our second friendly! We get the 5-3 win behind goals from Pedro, Albert, Snyder, Jesús and Obed! Next we play Swedish clubs IFK Norrkøping and Hammarby IF on Wednesday, February 5!
