PREVIOUS MEETING: The last meeting between the two sides was earlier this year on March 9th. Due to inclement weather, the match was suspended in the 6th minute of play and postponed until April 30.
RESUMING PLAY: The match on Tuesday will begin in the 6th minute with the score 0-0, and both teams will field the same lineups as the previous meeting.
UNIQUE CIRCUMSTANCES: While both teams are required to field the same starting lineups and matchday rosters, there are a couple of exceptions. Xavier Arreaga, who started that match, was traded to the New England Revolution last week. He can be replaced by any player who was on the bench on March 9th. Bench players inserted into the lineup can be replaced by anyone from the active roster.
ROAD SWING: The Sounders face a quick turnaround for Tuesday night’s fixture after facing D.C. United on the road at Audi Field on Saturday.
PHILLY FORTRESS: The Union lost 2-1 to Real Salt Lake on Saturday evening, which was their first loss at Subaru Park in the regular season since March 25th, 2023.
ATTACKING TRIDENT: Philadelphia boasts the second-most potent attack in the Eastern Conference with 15 goals from just eight matches played. Nine of those goals have come from their front three of Daniel Gazdag, Julián Carranza and Mikael Uhre.
MAESTRO MCGLYNN: Most of Philadelphia’s chance creation in possession flows through Homegrown Player Jack McGlynn in midfield. The Union academy product leads the team in passes (290), passes completed (353) and touches (447), and is second in key passes (12).
