Following the team’s 6-2 aggregate win over Antigua GFC in the Round One, two-match series of the Concacaf Champions Cup, Seattle Sounders wingers Pedro de la Vega and Paul Arriola were named to the tournament's Round One Best XI.
Arriola put the Sounders on the front-foot early into the tournament, scoring the team's opening goal just two minutes into the Leg 1 match in Guatemala. His offensive prowess then carried over into Leg 2, where he found the back of the net in the first few minutes of the second half.
de la Vega came up clutch in both matches as well, scoring Seattle's third goal of the night in Leg 1 and collecting a brace in Leg 2 to secure the team a spot in the next round of the international tournament.
Arriola and de la Vega return to action on Wednesday when the Sounders face Cruz Azul in the first leg of the CCC Round of 16 (7:30 p.m. PT; Watch on FS2, ViX | TICKETS) at Lumen Field.
