Fredy Montero earns his third All-Star selection in his four-year MLS career.
NEW YORK – Seattle Sounders FC forward Fredy Montero has been named an inactive MLS All-Star, MLS announced today.
Earning his third All-Star selection in his four-year MLS career, Montero, 24, has been a consistent threat in Seattle’s attack. Montero has scored five goals and four assists in league play and has added two goals and three assists in outside competitions.
Each year, a minimum of 32 players are named All-Stars and today MLS announced the final 13: Jon Busch (San Jose Earthquakes), Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), Marvin Chavez (San Jose Earthquakes), Kenny Cooper (New York Red Bulls), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Fabian Espindola (Real Salt Lake), Roger Espinoza (Sporting Kansas City), Kei Kamara (Sporting Kansas City), Fredy Montero (Seattle Sounders FC), Jamison Olave (Real Salt Lake), Marco Pappa (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) and Brek Shea (FC Dallas).
Sounders FC will face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.
