MLS in Seattle has sold more than 10,000 season ticket memberships since the announcement of the team one month ago.
KIRKLAND, WASH. — Major League Soccer in Seattle has sold more than 10,000 season ticket memberships since the announcement of the team one month ago on November 13, the club announced today.
“We set very lofty goals when we announced the team less than a month ago,” said owner Joe Roth, who today had two films, The Great Debaters and Across the Universe, nominated for Golden Globes. “The response from the local community continues to energize and strengthen our commitment to create a team and fan experience unlike any other.”
Season ticket membership deposits are $50 per seat. A season ticket membership guarantees a place in line and priority to purchase MLS Seattle season tickets for the 2009 season. All membership deposits will be credited toward the initial season ticket purchase. Season ticket prices and locations will be announced at a later date.

Ely Allen and Kevin Forrest from the University of Washington, along with Gonzaga's George Josten, have been invited to the 2008 Adidas MLS Player Combine in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., from January 11-15. General managers and coaches from MLS teams will evaluate upcoming talent during the combine. The 2008 MLS SuperDraft will be held on Friday, Jan. 18 in Baltimore, Md.
