Dallas’ Record: The Hoops finished fourth in the Western Conference with 54 points (16-12-6). This is the first postseason appearance for Dallas since 2011.
Head-to-Head: Seattle won two of its three matchups with Dallas during the regular season, including a 3-2 victory at Toyota Stadium in April. The Sounders earned a 2-1 win over the visiting Hoops in the second meeting and lost, 3-1, at Dallas on September 24.
All-Time Series: Sounders FC is 8-3-4 all-time against FC Dallas. On the road, Seattle is 3-2-3 when facing the Hoops, but has lost two of its last three matches at Toyota Stadium. The two teams have never met in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Key Player: It has been somewhat of a breakout year for 22-year-old Fabian Castillo, who finished the regular season with 10 goals and four assists. The Colombian winger is in his fourth MLS season and has never scored against Seattle.
Notes: Sounders FC clinched the No. 1 seed and its first Supporters’ Shield by defeating the LA Galaxy, 2-0, in last weekend’s regular-season finale. … FC Dallas won eight of its final nine regular-season matches at Toyota Stadium. … Blas Perez has 11 goals and six assists to lead the Hoops in both categories, while Obafemi Martins led Seattle with 17 goals and 13 assists. … The Sounders are making their sixth straight appearance in the MLS Cup Playoffs. … Chris Seitz played all 90 minutes in goal for Dallas on Wednesday in the Knockout Round. Seitz was sidelined with an injury for a couple of months in the latter part of the regular season. … Dallas midfielder Mauro Diaz is out for Sunday’s match after receiving a one-game suspension from the MLS Disciplinary Committee.
