FORM GUIDE (all competitions, most recent first): Seattle: WWWWD, Minnesota: LLDWW
PREVIOUS MEETING: Minnesota defeated Seattle 3-2 at Lumen Field on June 1. Kalani Kossa-Rienzi and a Nicolás Romero own goal gave the Sounders their goals, while a brace from Tani Oluwaseyi and a penalty from Robin Lod secured three road points for the Loons.
RARE VICTORY: The Loons’ win in Seattle in June was the first time they had taken even a point in their previous eight trips. Since their MLS series began in 2017, the Sounders own a 12-2-2 record against Minnesota.
SIX-POINTER: Heading into the business end of the MLS regular season, Saturday’s contest is a massive six-pointer between the third- and fourth-place teams in the West. Minnesota enters three points ahead of Seattle, which has a match in hand. A win for the Sounders would draw them level on points, while a Loons victory would open a six-point gap.
UNBEATEN RUN HITS DOUBLE DIGITS: The Sounders have extended their undefeated run to 10 matches (7-0-3) since exiting the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer. Seattle has scored a staggering 29 goals in that span and claimed the No. 1 seed in the MLS table in the Leagues Cup.
MUSOVSKI FIRING: Forward Danny Musovski recorded a brace in the Sounders’ 4-0 win over the LA Galaxy last weekend. He’s now up to 10 goals on the year, a career high and tied for the team lead in goals with Albert Rusnák.
