Key Player: Maurice Edu was the top overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and was sold to Rangers in Scotland midway through the 2008 season. The 28-year-old defensive midfielder with 46 caps with the U.S. National Team moved on to Stoke City in 2012, going on loan first to Bursaspor in Turkey before landing in MLS with the Union this year. He has two goals and one assist through nine matches.
Notes: Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey was named Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month after scoring seven goals to go with two assists as Seattle went 3-0-1 in April…Sounders FC has won three straight matches, the 11th time in club history that they have seen a win streak of three or more games…Philadelphia is 0-3-2 on the road this season…Union midfielder Sebastien Le Toux played three seasons in Seattle, winning the USL MVP award in 2007 while helping the Sounders to the USL Championship. He was the first player signed by Sounders FC in 2008.
