Key Player: The MLS all-time leader in goals and assists, Landon Donovan will be playing in his final regular-season match at the StubHub Center on Sunday. Donovan has 10 goals and a team-high 19 assists in his final MLS season.
Notes: A victory on Sunday would give Sounders FC its first Supporters’ Shield. The Sounders and Galaxy are tied on points, but Seattle’s edge in total wins would be the difference if the two teams were still tied after the final two games. … Obafemi Martins has 17 goals this year, a single-season record for Sounders FC. … Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid is going for his third Supporters’ Shield. He won it in 2002 with LA and in 2008 with Columbus Crew. … With a win, the Sounders would become just the second team to win the U.S. Open Cup and the Supporters’ Shield in the same year. Seattle would also be the first MLS team with 20 wins since 1999. … DeAndre Yedlin returns to Sounders FC after missing the Oct. 10 match against Vancouver while he was away with the U.S. National Team. … LA midfielder Marcelo Sarvas is back after serving a one-match suspension for yellow-card accumulation.
