MATCH RECAP: Sounders FC Suffers 2-1 Home Loss Wednesday Evening to Austin FC

SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC (7-9-3, 24 points) fell 2-1 to Austin FC (5-10-5, 20 points) on Wednesday evening at Lumen Field. Facundo Torres and Guilherme Biro scored for the visitors, while defender Stuart Hawkins scored his first career goal for Seattle on an assist from Albert Rusnák. Brian Schmetzer’s side now hits the road for a matchup with FC Cincinnati on Saturday, August 22 at TQL Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).

  • With the result, Seattle sits in 12th place in the Western Conference with 24 points (7-9-3) at time of writing. The club is currently three points below the MLS Cup Playoffs line.
