Seattle Sounders FC (10-8-5, 35 points) fell 2-0 on the road Wednesday evening to the San Jose Earthquakes (8-7-8, 32 points) at PayPal Park. Carlos Espinoza scored a 19th-minute penalty and then assisted a Miguel Trauco volley from distance in the 65th minute, as the Earthquakes took all three points and swept the season series against Seattle. The loss snaps a two-match winning streak for the Rave Green, who return home Saturday, July 15 to host FC Dallas on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (7:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV – Watch Free, 93.3 KJR FM, Sirius XM FC, El Rey 1360 AM).
