PORTLAND, ORE. – Sounders FC (3-5-4, 13 points) won 2-1 over the Portland Timbers (2-6-4, 10 points) on Sunday afternoon at Providence Park. Cristian Roldan and Raúl RuidÃaz both scored for the Rave Green, as the visitors took three points against their longtime Cascadia rivals. Today’s contest marked the 120th all-time meeting between the Sounders and Timbers dating back to 1975, with the Rave Green now holding a 57-46-17 advantage in the series.
With the result, Seattle jumped into 10th place in the Western Conference, three points below the playoff line.
