No surprises here but Sounders FC forward Obafemi Martins is up for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for Week 5.
You should take a few moments, or hours, depending of your level of committment, and vote for it to win right here. You can vote as many times as you would like!
Martins' effort against the Houston Dynamo was something to behold and has garnered national recognition in the latest round-up of top tallies from around the league.
Taking the ball from Clint Dempsey along the right side of the penalty area, Martins put the 360 on Dynamo defender Jermaine Taylor to shake him off and then fired a powerful right-footed shot across Tyler Deric's goal into the far corner to give Seattle the 1-0 lead.
In other words, the complete package. Take a look see:
The goal was Martins' third of the season, which is good for a tie for second in the league behind Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Octavio Rivero. Seattle is 21-1-0 when Martins scores...which is a pretty good number.
Martins, 30, is good at soccer. The end.
