SEATTLE, WASH. – Major League Soccer today announced its 2022 regular season schedule, a campaign that sees each of its 28 clubs play 34 matches – 17 home and 17 away – beginning on February 26 and ending on October 9. Seattle Sounders FC has 13 matches slated for a national television audience on ESPN and FOX's family of networks, with all other matches being carried throughout the state of Washington via the club’s partnerships with FOX 13+ and Prime Video. Additional regional broadcast information will be announced in the new year. Â
As previously announced, to best align with the 2022 international soccer calendar, the 2022 MLS regular season begins earlier than ever before, kicking off on Saturday, February 26 and running through Decision Day on Sunday, October 9. The Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs directly follow the regular season, with three consecutive weeks of action leading up to the 2022 MLS Cup on Saturday, November 5, more than two weeks prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 21.
Of Sounders FC's 13 nationally televised fixtures, five matches are airing on FS1 with two more on network FOX, as well as three apiece on ESPN and ABC. The 2022 MLS regular season broadcast schedule features the largest network coverage in league history. A record 48 matches will air on network television across ABC, FOX, Univision and UniMás.
