Major League Soccer on Monday named Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan to the Week 26 Team of the Week for his stellar two-goal performance in Seattle’s 4-3 win over the LA Galaxy on Sunday.
Playing in a wide midfield role, Roldan bagged a brace as the Rave Green emerged victorious from a wild shootout against the LA Galaxy, securing second place in the Western Conference. In addition to his brace, Roldan recorded one tackle, one clearance, seven recoveries and two key passes. His second goal, which he scored courtesy of a clever back-post run in the 89th minute, secured three points for Seattle in a vital Western Conference clash.
