COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – For just the second time this season, Sounders FC will start the same lineup in consecutive matches, as Head Coach Sigi Schmid went unchanged in his starting 11 from last week’s 4-2 win over Chivas USA.
Fresh off an Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month performance in September when he notched five goals in five matches, Obafemi Martins will start up top with Clint Dempsey, who himself has a goal or assist in seven consecutive matches. In that span, Dempsey has four goals and four assists.
In the midfield, Lamar Neagle looks to extend his five-game point streak that has seen him tally three goals and three assists. He will start on the right side with Marco Pappa on the left and a central pair of Osvaldo Alonso and Micheal Azira.
The back line features DeAndre Yedlin on the right, Brad Evans on the left and Chad Marshall partnering with Jalil Anibaba in the middle.
Stefan Frei starts in goal and looks to win for the third time this season against the Rapids.
The only previous time Seattle played the same lineup in consecutive matches was against Colorado on August 30, also coming off of a 4-2 victory.
Kickoff is scheduled for 12 pm PT with television coverage on JOEtv (KZJO Ch. 22/Cable 10).
