RENTON, WASH. - Sunday night's Independence Day match between the Seattle Sounders FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy will be televised live on KONG 6/16 and throughout the region on FSN.
Viewers in the Seattle area can watch the game on KONG, beginning with the pregame show featuring Chris Egan, Alan Hinton and Pete Fewing at 7 p.m. PT. Viewers outside of Seattle but throughout the region can see the match live on FSN beginning at 7:30 p.m.
"Having ESPN2 broadcast the game nationally is good for our league and our brand," said Gary Wright, Senior Vice President/Business Operations. "The game is already scheduled on KONG so we want to meet our commitment to the station and our corporate partners, therefore our fans will be able to watch our local broadcast with Arlo White calling the play-by-play and our award-winning production team."
Sounders FC broadcasts won a local Emmy Award for the 2009 season.
Sunday's game between Seattle and the Galaxy, owner of the best record in MLS, starts at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Locally, the game will also be heard on KIRO 97.3 FM.
Spanish language coverage locally is available on THIS-TV (KOMO 4.2 and Comcast 114) and on Homero 1210 AM.
