It has already been quite the year with the U.S. Men's National Team for Sounders FC Academy product Jordan Morris. Earlier this year, the 20-year-old Mercer Island native netted his first international goal in the senior squad's 2-0 victory over Mexico. He went on to score against El Tri again just a week later with the U-23 squad.
After being featured regularly with the senior team, Morris' solid form earned him a spot on Andi Hertzog's squad for the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying roster. In the team's first match on Thursday, he scored two goals and helped to secure a 3-1 win over Canada.
Morris didn't waste any time putting his team on top, netting his first goal of the match in the first minute.
Morris found the back of the net yet again in the second half, doubling the team's lead.
The team will now move on to face Cuba at 2 p.m. PT on Saturday, October 3, at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
Morris now has five international goals in 2015.
