SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris has been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team for a pair of Europe-based friendlies in the squad’s final tune-up matches ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named 26 players to his roster that will face Japan on September 23 in Düsseldorf, Germany (5:26 a.m. PT / ESPN2, ESPN+, UniMás, TUDN) and Saudi Arabia on September 27 in Murcia, Spain (10:30 a.m. PT / FS1, UniMás, TUDN).
Morris, 27, continues his run of U.S. Men’s National Team call-ups, most recently playing in a pair of Concacaf Nations League matches against El Salvador and Grenada in June after making six appearances in the USMNT’s successful World Cup Qualifying campaign. Morris has started 20 of his 48 career appearances for the Stars and Stripes since his first call-up back in 2014, scoring 11 goals. The Mercer Island native has 10 goals and five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions in 2022.
Following a 3-0 win over Austin FC on Saturday, Sounders FC (12-15-3, 39 points) travels north to British Columbia to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, September 17 (7:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
