Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris and midfielder Cristian Roldan have been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup as Head Coach B.J. Callahan finalized his 23-man roster for this summer’s tournament, hosted by the United States and Canada. The USMNT begins its quest for an eighth continental title on Saturday, June 24 against Jamaica at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The USMNT is part of Group A with Jamaica, Nicaragua and a team being determined through the 2023 Gold Cup Prelims. Following its match against Jamaica, Callahan’s side faces the TBD opponent on Wednesday, June 28 at CITYPARK in St. Louis before closing Group Stage action on Sunday, July 2 against Nicaragua at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. A full schedule of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup can be found **here**.

Morris, 28, has 52 appearances and 11 goals for the USMNT, including two appearances during 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar against Wales and the Netherlands. Morris is tied for fifth MLS with nine goals this season, including a club-record four goals against Sporting Kansas City on March 25. He currently ranks third in club history with 51 MLS regular-season goals and 61 across all competitions since signing with Seattle in 2016.

Roldan, 27, has 32 career caps for the USMNT and was part of the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. Roldan has started eight of his nine MLS regular-season appearances in 2023, most recently recording a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Charlotte FC. Since being selected by Seattle in the First Round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Roldan ranks third in club history (MLS era) with 289 appearances across all competitions, seventh with 38 goals and third with 48 assists.

Morris is the second most experienced player on Callahan’s roster with 52 career international caps, followed by Roldan tied for third with 32. Sounders FC Academy product and Inter Miami CF defender Deandre Yedlin leads the squad with 78 international appearances, while LAFC defender Aaron Long, who played for Sounders FC 2 in 2015, is tied with Roldan at 32.

The Stars and Stripes seek a record-tying eighth confederation championship this summer, winning the inaugural tournament in 1991 before being crowned regional champions again in 2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017 and 2021. A title this summer would tie Mexico’s record of eight.

Following a thrilling 3-3 draw on Saturday at Charlotte FC, Sounders FC hits the road to face LAFC on Wednesday, June 21 at BMO Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, iHeartMedia, El Rey 1360 AM).
