SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris and midfielder Cristian Roldan have been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team for the inaugural Allstate Continental Clásico against archrival Mexico on Wednesday, April 19 in Glendale, Arizona (7:00 p.m. PT / TBS, Telemundo, Universal, HBO MAX, Peacock). Both players earn their first call-up since representing the USMNT at the 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM. The showdown with Mexico marks the first edition of the Allstate Continental Clásico, a new annual event that features the USMNT hosting a top-tier opponent from North, Central or South America.
Morris, 28, has 51 appearances and 11 goals for the USMNT, including two appearances during 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTMÂ against Wales and the Netherlands. Morris leads MLS with eight goals this season, including a club-record four goals against Sporting Kansas City on March 25. He currently ranks third in club history with 50 MLS regular season goals and 60 across all competitions since signing with Seattle in 2016.
Roldan, 27, has 32 career caps for the USMNT, most recently being part of the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM. Roldan has started all seven of Seattle’s seven MLS regular-season appearances in 2023, scoring a goal in the season opener against Colorado on February 26. Since being selected by Seattle in the First Round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Roldan ranks third in club history (MLS era) with 287 appearances across all competitions, seventh with 37 goals and third with 47 assists.
