João Paulo wins MLS Goal of the Week for Week 1

Major League Soccer announced on Thursday that João Paulo’s golazo against Minnesota United has won AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 1. In an opening weekend filled with exciting matches and marquee goals, the Sounders FC midfielder still managed to collect over 66-percent of the vote with his audacious side volley.


João Paulo and Sounders FC return to action this week as they venture to Banc of California Stadium to face off against LAFC on Saturday afternoon (3:00 p.m. PT; ESPN, 950 KJR AM).
