Following the club's dramatic 2-2 draw on the road against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night, Seattle Sounders defender Jackson Ragen has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 21.
The Sounders found themselves two goals down at the halftime break on Wednesday. Paul Rothrock pulled one back in the 57th minute before Ragen scored his first-ever MLS goal six minutes later. The domineering defender found himself in space at the back post and redirected Albert Rusnák's free kick with a flying, outside-the-foot volley that found the bottom corner to rescue a point on the road.
In addition to the goal, Ragen completed 53 of his 55 pass attempts, won five duels and posted a pair of recoveries.
The Sounders return to action on Saturday as they host Western Conference side FC Dallas (7:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS) in the club's Pride match at Lumen Field.
